Auto-Owners Insurance Complaint - Still Waiting - Automobile Accident Claim

BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA -- Auto-Owners Reps. in Birmingham, AL are extremely rude. We use State Farm insurance and have always been happy with them. We were in a 2 car accident (the driver of the other car was at fault) and they were insured by auto-owners. Our car was totaled. We received a quote from a claims representative in Birmingham. We researched it ourselves and also contacted State Farm to find out what they would pay out. Their quote was $500.00 more than what auto-owners had told us. And that did not include "loss of use". We contacted auto-owners with this information and they refuse to negotiate. They also told us that we would not be paid for loss of use. Because it is a small claim and no one was injured, it is not feasible to hire an attorney to fight them. We have talked to them on the phone and had to listen to their rude and at times extremely hateful attitude that we started writing letters. Still they will not budge in the least. It has been 7 months now and we still have not been compensated for our car. We would never use Auto-Owners insurance and if we knew how, we would steer clear of anyone out there that has them as their automobile insurer.

I am sorry you had this experience with Auto Owners. I am Independent agent representing Auto Owners and this is NOT typical of claims service from my experience of 11 years. If you did not receive fair settlement I would direct your call to Auto Owners Montgomery Branch Regional VP for assistance. Again sorry for your experience.
