I go on the theory that if they're making an offer sound too good to be true or too 'simple', there something sleazy about the offer and I want nothing to do with it.

When you get that message, it usually means you are being turned down. I've been on both sides of the approval line and found that to be the case. When I was approved, I was told I was approved and what my limit was.

These offers are based on limited credit info, if you read through the offer entirely, you'll find that info...it clearly states it. Remember, they're not allowed to review your entire credit history without your authorization.

Skelly is correct, when you get that message, it usually means you are being turned down, but not always. Sometimes it means they may have questions and need to talk to you in person before approving. But that's rare.

It doesn't always mean you're being turned down when they tell you they have to get back to you. We had to take a loan out for some medical issues this year, and I filled out the online app and it said they needed to get back to us the next day. We were approved.

I never get approved instantly. I always have to call in and answer a bunch of questions - old address, former account numbers, etc... But in the end, I've always gotten approved. I thought it did that with everyone and that they used the "instant" thing as a ploy.
