Divine Developers Complaint - Horrible Roofing Job

Review by superduke on 2010-11-21
CHINO, CALIFORNIA -- Replaced a roof, I noticed they did not remove the side curved tiles (apprx 100) around the house, hence, leaving the old nails there to rust! I told the production manager "vince" many times thru the job and he did not see to it that they were removed. Now as of 11/20, divine devprs claim they do not have to change them. The roof as of this date has not been signed off by the building chino inspector brad. A contractors law has been broken because they took over twenty days after the promised date of 10/20! The salesman ron harmon said there would be a three man crew, there was only one man most of the time and omce I saw him on the roof w/ a 12 year old boy.

I purchased tiles directly from the roofer (short, stocky, middle aged hispanic male) for $150.00. I had to tell vince that the roof over the breakfast nook didn't have enough mortar and you could see right through the roof. It was corrected.

There are gaps between tiles on the north side of the roof. I put up a tarp on 11/19 because of storm approaching. Looking at the tiles I covered up, I noticed that broken tiles were re- installed! A vent has a 30deg lean. The roof is not uniform or straight, horrible job

Did you check to see if this company was liscensed, bonded and insured? If they are, then I assume you also received some sort of written work order/estimate. I also hope you didn't pay (at least in full) before the work was finished. You may have no recourse if these things are not in place.
