Lan Airlines Complaint - Total nightmare - Airline baggage service

On November 2010 my husband traveled to Uruguay with Lan Airlines, big mystake!!! From JFK to Santiago de Chile to end in montevideo with no luggage. He did all the paper work and a the next day somebody with a Lan Airlines uniform came to the house to drop both suitcases. He notice one had an airline plastic lock, not his lock, and that was as not as heavy, they charged him 90US dollars at the airport, so he opened it in front of the employee to notice that half of his kids gifts were missing, Wii console with everything for two people, games, brand new clothes, shoes, etc, he goes only once a year so we spend all year saving for him to buy them what they want and what they need. He had to go to the birthday party with empty hands and he just recived a letter saying that they are not responsible for lost items, they are sorry but can't help him...... Try explaining that to an eight year old that waited a year for his birthday present.....sad. So please do not bring any luggage if you travel with Lan Airlines if you want to enjoy your vacation......
