Mozilla Complaint - Fire Fox Download. - Fire Fox Browser

Review by docb on 2005-03-20
MOUNTAIN VALLEY, CALIFORNIA -- In November I purchased Fire Fox Browser Software, Ver. 1.0. from the Mozilla Foundation. When installing, the results appeared in German. I could not alter by uninstalling and reinstalling 3 xs. I downloaded Fire Fox vers. 1.03 with the same results. Mozilla's cost for technical advice is $39. This is outrageous. I have written Mozilla Foundation on two occasions with no response. This browser is hihgly touted by several experts. I contacted Kim Komando via e-mail with my problem. I received no reply. So far my conclusion is I have been taken for $19.95. Has anyone encounted the same problem?

I downloaded FireFox at no cost. It worked fine. I don't understand why you had to pay for it in the first place.

Firefox is a great WEB Browser, with a slew of Add-ons and Themes. You can download the program-FREE-from the WEB, only 4.7 MB - reasonable even for my S-L-O-W dial-up connection!

I was able to download Firefox for free at http://www.mozilla.org/.

The latest version is 1.0.1.

Kim Kommando recently had a blurb concerning Firefox support:
"As for e-mail or phone support, Mozilla, which makes both programs,
has only a few employees. Firefox and Thunderbird were developed by
many, many volunteers. The software is free, so Mozilla could never
afford phone support. But all hope is not lost.

You can find a lot of information at the Mozilla site at:

Hope this helps.

I downloaded the software for free as well. I've never had a single issue with it (unlike Internet Explorer). So far as I know, the software is, and always has been, totally free. It comes with tons of optional add-ons, themes, etc., all of which are also free. It is also very secure, without all the security holes Microsoft Internet Explorer is famous for.

Did you get a hacked version? Lot of that going around lately, and way to many people willing to pay good money for bad software that don't want to pay a few bucks for something like Firefox, which is an excellent program.
