Kaspersky Complaint - Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 -ripoff-did not get last 2 weeks of service, cannot reach customer service in Russua - Kaspersky Internet Security 2010

Complaint
Review by hisnibs on 2010-11-24
EVERY FEW MINUTES 14 days before my Kaspersky Internet Security License was due to expire I got a notice reminding me to renew my Kaspersky Internet Security software. At exactly this time Kaspersky Internet Security stopped functioning. I kept getting a notice to turn on the software but I was unable to turn it on or run the software. I don't think a person should be forced into buying antivirus software before the expiry date of their software. It is a ripoff/scam to not get 2 weeks of service that was paid for. I won't be buying Kaspersky products again. Kaspersky support seems to be in Russia and I could not reach anyone to help me turn my software back on if indeed that is possible. I have 9 days of supposed service left right now and hopefully the latest version of NORTON internet security will be here today.
I strongly recommend NOT buying Kapersky products.

Kaspersky makes excellent products that are widely used. The loss of 14 days sounds bizarre and shouldn't happen. You should be able to get customer service for one of their products, regardless of where they are located.

1-866-525-9094 They also have Live Chat, and a problem submission form. Did you try any, all of these?

Norton is a very bloated piece of software. If you dont mind bloated software you can use AVG for free and it beats Norton every time.

I have been using Kaspersky for the last 6-7 years. I have never had any issues with it. I usually forget to renew and it works to the very last day.

It almost sounds like you may have some malware that is disabling Kaspersky in order to further infect your system.

I received email prompts saying my Kaspersky subscription is due to end. On due date, I purchased, downloaded and installed 1 year 2013 version. It now tells me licence will expire in 26 days. Phoned support who said it was my 2012 version that still has 26 days to go and that unless I install the 2013 version, I will lose it! They don't listen or are trained to act this way when dealing with customers. I have this problem and others every year and have now decided never to use this company again.
