LG service works with SCAMMER??

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, NEW JERSEY -- I purchased LG model LSXS26366S side door refrigerator in May 2016 and needed a repair service, LG customer service gave us a number to a company called "Chipset21" in MD.
A technician comes and checks it out and gives us a result saying the compressor is out but we still have warranty on it so all we had to pay altogether was $400.
After the estimate he has taken out $125 on that day, he leaves after saying "I'll come back in 2 days", which was a Friday. He did not show up on Friday,
so I contacted him after that weekend.
He said he couldn't show up if I didn't fill out and file back the Receipt format done in Google Drive, but We wanted to be sure about the total cost before send form because this form has another $245 for some parts.
so I asked him multiple amount of times,
"is $400 All I had to pay?" He says Yes with nothing else. and then I sent him the form back.
So without a doubt I fill out the form with the card number and etc information.
He answers back if you could send us the POP( Proof of Purchase), we could get a bit more discount on it.
I email him the POP that I have received, the technician says "The software upgrade won't be accounted in the price"
On the next day he takes out $245 as it said on the Receipt form.
The total amount he took out was $370, we thought $30 was discounted and was relieved. Within couple of days he came and fixed our refrigerator,
We were sure it was all over with.
5 days later to having he takes out another $400 which we could not understand at all.
I called him about the $400 charge, he changes his words saying that we are paying for everything and the actual total payment was $760.
He has never said to me about the total ever being $760.
We couldn't believe that this kind of Company who changes words every time talking on the phone is the Cooperative Repair Service Company that LG works with.
We were very disappointed with LG that we completely trusted.
We will not recommend LG to any other family members or to close friends when they need household electronics.
We have used refrigerator way older than this and never had to worry about compressor going wrong.
And LG customer service was the worst I've ever been through.

Seal System - Bad Customer Service

Goodness, where to begin? Even though our issues started three weeks ago, we worked through your LG online customer service Live Chat and used one of the three LG authorized service companies recommended for our area. New Life Appliance in Laguna Niguel. After three weeks of very poor customer service from them, they came back to us saying our fridge was not repairable and that they would work with LG to get a replacement fridge out ASAP. The seal systems were shot and even if LG repaired them they would break again in a year (if they lasted that long).

Well, that never happened because the next day the LG referred service center said they were not able to deal with the warranty department although they have been complaining to LG for months about the issue. New Life Appliance told us we need to contact a new service center to come out and start the whole process over again. Ok, I contacted LG live chat again, very frustrated. After a 30 minute live chat with LG last night, they promised a factory tech would be to our place this morning 10/06/2015 between 8-12 and that we were first on the priority list (here is our reference number **).

I also have all of that documented in the Live chat that I saved.. BY 12:30 this morning and no call or email -- we were pretty perturbed. This time, my husband called the 800 number to talk to someone regarding our experience and to find out when a tech would be arriving. He was then told that our appointment was bumped to 3-5 pm because they were busy. So, we took the morning off thinking we were first in line and then get no showed and then find out we need to continue to wait until 5 pm. No call, no email, no nothing.

On that phone call, my husband asked to speak to a manager. He explained what New Life Appliance had said and asked the manager if they could contact New Life Appliance and work through the warranty with them, since LG told us to use them. The manager gave an emphatic "NO". She told my husband, that is not how it works and that a we either wait again until 5 pm or schedule for another day. Ok, Yes, we are getting very upset by this point.

MY husband asked her, what about the fact New Life said the fridge needed to be completely replaced? Her response was under no circumstances will replace a unit, parts will be supplied and that is it. Even though the seal system is a warranted item and New Life said the machine was not repairable and it needed to be replaced.

Our model # is FX our serial number is Y2K. We purchased our fridge on 06/24/2013. Two years ago. We have lost over $500 of food. So, we are now waiting for the 3-5 pm factory tech to arrive and see where we go from there. It is 4:00 and still no tech so we don't know if we should hold our breath or not. We have missed an entire day of work because of this and still no fridge. Been without it since 09/17/2015. That was when I originally contacted LG for help with service.

French Door Refrigerator Evaporator Ices Up, Food Spoils

LFCS31626S Serial Number 509KRGG1**. LG Refrigerator French Door Bottom Freezer. Fridge and freezer stopped cooling, already happened three times. Lots of food lost. I will never purchase an LG product again. The evaporator (the thingy behind the back cover, with lots of coils and fins, which is responsible for transferring the "coldness" from the compressed gas to the surrounding air inside the fridge/freezer) ices up. The evaporator defrost heater is working, yet it does not defrost all the ice, allowing for lots of ice buildup. Apparently LG has issue controlling the defrost cycle. But the bottom line is that when ice builds up on the evaporator fins, no cooling can be done and the food spoils.

To fix the issue you have to take the entire fridge (shelves, rails, drawers) and freezer (door, drawers, rails, ice maker) apart to gain access to the back covers, remove the back covers and manually defrost using a hair drier to remove all the ice build up. I am now an expert in doing this, and it "only" takes about half a day. But all the food is already spoiled since there is no warning that the fridge and/or freezer stopped working. :-( Apparently, this is a common issue with LG refrigerators, not only this specific model.

Other people also have issues with the drain tube freezing up (the drain tube is supposed to drain the water which the evaporator defrost heater thaws. This cause water to overflow and build at bottom of fridge and/or freezer and leak onto the floor, damaging the floor. Some people jury-rigged a copper wire extension from the defrost heater into the drain hole to transfer heat from the heater into the drain hole. LG is aware of these issues and has done nothing to address them. Three recommendations for LG:

1- Engineer a better way to detect that there is ice building up and/or make sure that the defrosting cycle is long and/or frequent enough to defrost the evaporator coils and fins. 2- Have an ALARM whenever the temp inside the fridge and/or the freezer is above the set temperature, to warn against spoiling food. 3- LG should engineer something to ensure that the drain holed does not ice up. (A heat transfer copper wire as above or a separate heating element around the drain tube.) Even if they do listen, I will never purchase an LG product again. -Avi

LG Refrigerator Purchase and Service

I purchased an LG refrigerator in July 2018 and it has been a horrible experience from the operation of the unit to the customer service and the repair. I have only owned a few different refrigerators in my life mostly because of moving, but this is by far the noisiest appliance I have ever owned. A “repair technician” came out three times to service the unit and ended his last visit with “LG isn't going to do anything”.
The repair technician blamed the noise on my kitchen echoing, a broom leaning against the unit, and dog hair. My kitchen didn't echo the sound of my prior refrigerator and the broom leaned against that unit as well. As for the dog, he was only visiting – we do not own a dog, but had a cat in the house the 12 years prior with our old refrigerator. This guy was nothing but a salesman and he even told me that “sound is a perception” and I'll give him that, but I guess then my perception of sound changed between refrigerators. The new unit hums, buzzes and whirs constantly and occasionally makes loud noises I compared to shutting down small gasoline powered engines. He did say most old refrigerators had one fan and the unit we bought had many, many fans. Unfortunately, the unit did not make the louder noises when the “technician” was at my house, but I did record them but he refused to listen to them. He said he could keep coming but eventually LG was going to charge me for it and said he was like a dentist and if I couldn't tell him what tooth hurt, he didn't know what tooth to pull? Hmmm, any dentist I've been to makes an assessment based on x-rays and other diagnostic tests. I even suggested to the guy that maybe the insulation was an issue and he said “that's impossible, the insulation is blown in”.
And the customer service department, well they gave me the service tech's cell phone number and just told me to contact him directly if I had a problem. LG does not want to deal with anyone or anything after they close the deal. Not a good long-term plan, but I guess it is working for them now. I've advised a few people in person that I knew were looking for a new unit, but hoping to reach more people this way.
Whatever you can do to steer clear of LG, DO IT.

HILTON HEAD, SOUTH CAROLINA -- Multiple Calls to LG customer service and with 2 appointments set up by them with their technical support at A&E, neither of which were honored. LG have sent parts to my house; a compressor and dryer for the said appointments. They're still sitting here. I've come to the conclusion that their customer support people lie to customers. I assume A&E is contracted by LG but they thumb their noses in the air at them and do whatever they want. DO NOT BUY AN LG product.

Our fridge was $3000 and 3 years old. We've gone through the holidays with no refrigeration. There seems to be no end in sight. I've tried to get in touch with LG management at their Huntsville, Alabama address. They're hiding out there - faceless wonders. It's time they took responsibility for their products and accountability to their customers.

I hate LG.

ELKHART, INDIANA -- I hate LG, worse company to deal with when you need customer service or system repair. 69 days and still no resolution on my $2,900 refrigerator. After 1.5 years the unit quit working, after 50 phone calls and several attempts to fix their unit I still have no solution. They suck, they don't care about the customer, they keep escalating my case and each time it takes 3-10 days to get an answer. They say they will contact me and they never do, I have to call them 3 times a week to keep things moving.

Missing time from work to be home for repair people, they made a mess in my house. Open the system under pressure and sprayed refrigerant oil vapor in my kitchen and dining room… They don't care about the customer at all. Keep apologizing on the phone, yet their action reflects zero effort to correct their defective unit. All the local LG service companies refused to work on their product, Technicians told me they can't fix it and they will not touch an LG refrigerator sealed system. I have to say it's the worse customer service experience of my life. I am so mad… Who can live for over two months without a refrigerator?

DENVER, COLORADO -- I would like to tell anyone the thinking about purchasing an LG refrigerator. Make sure you get the extended warranty but don't plan on quick service. (Ain't going to happen.) We bought a beautiful refrigerator I loved. The setup was wonderful. I soon found out the LG has no regard for their customers. At the end of October, I notice the refrigerator was very cold so I called for a service. It was a week before they could me a service appointment.

My first appointment was 11/8. The technician was here for three hours. When she left she said, "I will call you tomorrow to make sure it's working." Ok next day still not working... next available appointment 11/15. She was here 3 more hours... next day still not working... next available appointment 11/21 day before Thanksgiving. She was here 5 hours. She texted on Friday, "Is the refrigerator working?" (No.) My next appointment 11/28. She was here for an hour. When she left the refrigerator still was not fixed... we spent the hour on the phone with the service department asking them to send us a new refrigerator and them refusing, the technician has one more thing to try. I have been without a working refrigerator for a month... will not be purchasing anything LG again.

Terrible Customer Service

Our LG Refrigerator is 5 years old and stopped working two weeks ago. We called one of their service companies to come out to repair it. We paid an upfront fee. Someone came out and said the Freon leaked out and they would have to contact LG to see what they wanted to do. (I took a day off work to wait for this service person.) We did not hear back. Called the service company and was told to contact LG customer service. They were extremely rude and unhelpful. My husband talked to a manager and they were also rude. After a few days he called again and was told we would have to start the whole process over again with a new service company.

We called them and were assigned a day and time. They would be out between 10-2. (Yes, another day off work.) They said they wouldn't be fixing it just looking at it. (So one of us will have to take another day off work if we are lucky enough to ever get someone out to fix it.) We have had no fridge for two weeks now and there is no end in sight. LG does not respect their customers nor do they stand by their products evidently.

Unreliable LG

(1-800-626-2001) This is a number that I have come to know by heart! Not by choice! You may recognize the number as the number for Customer Service for LG Appliances. We purchased our DREAM LG Appliances, Refrigerator, Stove, Microwave and Dishwasher for close to 8000.00 back in Feb. 2008 from Bernie's in Waterbury CT, And have nothing but trouble ever since!

After doing what we thought was research in reference to company and integrity we found LG was announcing a Cross-Licensing Agreement with GE. What better company, GE is a household name that has a lot of history in the United States and one that stands behind their products. GE happens to also be one of the biggest players in the wind power industry that is up and coming. This information meant a lot to fiance and me as far as energy conservation goes.

We had read a quote by Young Ha Lee the President and CEO of LG Electronics and Digital Appliance Company. He stated that "the licensing agreement would enhance the ability to deliver WINNING PRODUCTS and move the company further toward the goal of becoming one of the top global brands in consumer electronics and home appliances." This could not be farther from the truth as far as we are concerned. We have had a number of service calls on our stove and have had many parts replaced, only to have the stove still not work!

I came home only yesterday to find the freezer had flooded my kitchen floor in solid ice chunks. That is a whole different letter. So let us only concentrate on the stove, the reason I am writing this letter to begin with. After the trouble we had we decided to research complaints on LG appliances to see if we were the only ones out there experiencing these problems.

I thought after all, that since my fiance was a contractor and had some experience in buying quality products for people's homes and referring a number of his clients to Home Depot to purchase the LG products that we had made the right decision when it came time for us to buy new home appliances. We were we sadly mistaken, and are extremely disappointed! Needless to say, with the purchase of our second house finalized we will not be purchasing LG products to furnish it with! Nor will my fiance be referring clients from his contracting business to purchase any LG products!

In these economic times, you would expect a company like LG to deliver quality items to ensure that customers return. As I stated above my fiance and I researched the complaints and found that it was not only us experiencing such trouble. Below you will find a number of comments made in reference to LG products. The reputation of LG is on the decline, I only hope that GE is not involved in this.

"Life is not good with LG!" "Oh how sorry I am that I didn't read the negative comments first!" "Please, Please, Please, avoid purchasing LG appliances!" "LG is junk!" "I should have stuck with American brands!" "LG should be placed under investigation for defrauding customers!" "Sid Miller no longer carries LG due to customer complaints!" "œLG sold us a defective machine and is not an honorable company!" "Whatever you do, do not buy LG!" "LG is putting out poor quality and not covering warranties!"

I could go on for hours with the extensive number of complaints found online. I will however stop here and say; that if we do end up getting the stove replaced at this point it has been such a hassle. We both work over an hour from our house, and as you can imagine it has not been easy getting to our house to let the service guys in not once, but 5 times. I have had to take PTO from work to make it to the house for the designated service calls. Not to mention, the meals my fiance and I have had to pay for to be able to eat. Eating out or having to schlep meals to my mother's to cook has been a complete nightmare!

The straw that broke the camel's back came on Christmas Eve when finally the stove was said to be fixed. We invited family to our house for "7 fishes", a family and religious tradition. The oven decided that once again it was not going to work. So with 15 people at our house and over 150.00 dollars' worth of fish to be cooked what were we to do? It took over 5 hours to cook (and still wasn't done right) on convection oven with the temperature saying 500 degrees.

Needless to say, Christmas Eve was a disaster and my family went home hungry. We may as well have thrown 150.00 into the garbage because that is where all the fish went! We did not appreciate spending our hard earned money on the stove to have it fail us.

I thought that my fiance and I had been reasonable when dealing with all of the service calls and time taken off work. I feel that we have been more than understanding. The problem is that at this point I feel from my gathered information that I would like to receive a refund on this disastrous purchase or to be authorized to purchase a different more reliable brand.

I do not want another LG product since LG doesn't stand behind their products. The LG appliances look very good, almost commercial grade - great addition to your kitchen so long as you don't have to use them. Not only are they DANGEROUS with the turning on and off by themselves, but are the most unreliable pieces of equipment available. I will make sure via word of mouth that none of my close friends, family, and or co-workers makes a purchase from LG in the future!
