Ceiva Complaint - Worth the time? - Ceiva digital picture frame

Review by HaroldWorthingtonthethird on 2010-11-25
I won't tell you stories about my "ailing father" or "elderly mother" to jerk your tears. Sheesh where do people get these pathetic stories? I will tell you that this frame should let you copy pictures from a card reader. My card reader from my Cannon Camera does not even fit in the frame. The only way to add pictures (500 max) is to use their online service which is tedious because it requires that you connect to the phone line, or ethernet.
What a great gift? You spend an hour reading the manual on how to sign up and connect and then you have to make your pictures public by putting them on the internet? (yes nothing is private on the internet really) I think it's a good idea but not for the technologically unsavvy. It certainly isn't for your dying dad or old mama LOL. You people who complained about not getting your product in time, don't worry, using it after you get it is even worse. It's a blessing not to get this crap. Simplicity isn't the word of the day when it comes to Ceiva. You have to buy optional attachments for ethernet or to read from a CD? Why not include this and charge more? Yes I LIVE MY LIFE TO USE MY DIGITAL PICTURE FRAME ---NOT.

I know that some digital picture frames work by inserting an SD card with photos into the frame, and it reads the images off the card. This particular picture frame requires you to download the images directly to it via a website. Not everybody owns a computer, but does have a digital camera. And SD cards are cheap enough. Maybe that frame does not have an SD card slot.
