Brother Complaint - This printer is a lemon!
I bought the printer for the built-in networking and the fact that there are three different color cartridges so that when one color runs out, all I have to do is buy a single $10 cartridge instead of a $35 tri-color cartridge. The automatic feeder works well and the slots for digital media are really convenient.
11 months after purchase the printer issues an Error 41 - Call Tech Support. The upshot - the printhead is dead and needs to be replaced for over $100. I paid $170 for the printer. Since I am under warranty, Brother sent a replacement printer. The replacement lasted two months and is now issuing the same Error 41. I did some online research and found out that Error 41 is a big problem across the entire Brother product line and the cost to repair the error can be greater than the purchase price of the unit.
I bought an HP 6210 - the photo printing is better, but I miss the media slots and the networking. But, the 6210 is faster and quieter, although the included software is pretty weak. I am very disappointed in the Brother and I am reluctant to ever buy another Brother product.
