Best Buy Informative - No/Poor Service
I recently attended to a local Best Buy Store with the intended purpose of purchasing a specific television and two (2) Blue Ray Players. In other words I knew what I wanted as I had seen these items in the Best Buy flier that had arrived with my morning paper. I went to the clost Best Buy early enough that I could avoid the crowd(s. When I arrived at the store I was greeted by the Door Welcomer (much like WalMart) and I went directly to the Television area and found what I was looking for. I was not able however to find any sales staff. I did see several of them not too far away and tried to get their attention however it was obvious they were more interested in assisting the good looking female rather than an old retired guy like me (who could blame them) I eventually did see a staff member who was marking/pricing DVD's and asked him if he wanted to seel me a TV and a couple of Blue Ray players. He asked me what kind of TV and I simply asked does it matter? He said not really but that he was somewhat busy at the time and to get someone else! I said perhaps I should go to Future Shop (Competition in my area) and he said I could do that if I wanted! I then proceeded to leave but was asked by the door greeter guy if everything was fine. When I told him no, he asked why and I explained. He said he could call the manager, which I asked him to do. He paged the manager twice however there was no response so I left the store however I did leave my home telephone number. I did stop at another store and purchase a Song Bravia 40" TV and two Sony Blue Ray Players. Total Cost about $1400.00. I did receive a call back from the store manager the next day and I advised him what had transpired in his store and needless to say he was not happy and suggested I could return and he would tend to my needs. I advised him however that I had already made my purchase. As a result of this experience I did learn that Best Buy do not employ commission staff however their competition such as FUTURE SHOP do which results in much better service, for obvious reasons at a FUTURE SHOP.
