Vizio Complaint - Bad Tv... Bad Remote... Bad Service... - XVT473SV

XVT473SV - Complaint
Review by vj100 on 2010-11-27
I bought this TV from Walmart after reading CNET editor choice review. I paid delivery charges and when I tried to start this out of box new product it did not start. I have never seen anything like this in my life. A brand new product not working ...

I guess CNET editor's reviews are paid reviews ... VIZIO is smart to spend money on it because people trust on online reviews more than TV ads .

I called their tech support they don't know if the problem is in the TV or remote. the support guy was very rude. he is going to send me another remote after 10 days ... still waiting ... he told me to try with new remote (10 days waiting and still waiting ) after that he will judge if the problem is in the TV or remote.

I don't have a choice here, I also wrote to emails addresses available on their website but no response ...

CNET EDITORS I TRUSTED YOU BUT YOU ARE JUST LIKE ANY OTHER COMMERCIAL MEDIA .

I have never seen any product like this in my 60 yrs.

You know what's so weird, my parents have a few Vizio TV's. They have one in their family room, and in the kitchen, and when they would turn on the Vizio in the living room, the one in the kitchen would also turn on, and the remote was not even facing the kitchen when this was happening. Vizio's sent them out a new remote for the TV in the living room, and all is well.

I bought a Vizio at Sams and its just fine. Anything that is 'shipped' probably has more chance of damage than one you picked up at the store. Why would you not just simply return it? I wouldn't hassle with a new item.

Excellent point Dan about the shipping. Although my parents also bought their Vizio's TV's at a store, and still had a remote issue.

I think you are barking up the wrong tree. I would place the blame in Vizio's lap for poor quality control, if anything. Maybe CNET received all working units. Or maybe a non-functional set doesn't hurt their ratings, if they assume such a unit may be replaced by the retailer.
