The Home Depot Complaint - Needs Serious Management
DUBLIN, OHIO -- My mother and I were in the local Home Depot on Sawmill Road in Dublin, OH gathering information about a home remodel. She was interested in a full remodel of her kitchen, bathroom, windown, doors, and siding. Since this was going to be a large project we were not worried about the expense an she had wanted quality materials and this was long overdue. However this location in seriously understaffed....we had to wait forever to talk to anyone about our job. Not that the employees didn't try, they were just helping other customers instead. Well herein lies the problem, an employee attempted to call the manager on duty...a man by the name of Joe to help us or at least talk to us until the kitchen cabinet and appliance worker could help us. We waited for over fifteen minutes while the manager on duty and "MOD" was called over walkie talkies, phones, and an intercom system. I never did meet thin mysterious man if he does indeed exist. So needless to say we left, drove about 2 miles down the road to Lowe's and proceeded to get MUCH better service...to the tune of spending just over $50,000 currently and about another $25,000 to $50,000 in finishing up the remodel.
Next year we planned to carpet the basement, and will not even give Home Depot a second thought, Lowe's has been great and all our friends and relatives know this. On a side note, I have just been married and am looking to buy a house, my brother just bought a house....houses that need to be updated and repaired. How much money will this company lose because they hire lazy, stupid, incompetent managers who won't staff enough employees are be bothered to help out when they are busy.
