Review by kaaras on 2010-11-28
Bought a new cell phone from Verizon the fasinate. All was good till my grandson played with my phone and locked it up. The problem with this is the phone locks up and the google e-mail system kicks in. Partialy was my fault because I did not remember the password, which happens all the time with others too, thats why a forget your password kicks in. Well my phone is locked up for 5 days now. I emailed google about the problem first thing. The website where you forget your password on computer is there and states we will get back with you within 24 Hrs. ALL LIES!!! Five days later still now no one has contacted me. I even tried online help on for tech. problems help, nothing for cell phones. Called google direct gentlemen says no tech help for cell phones, call Co. Called goole direct and again nothing for cell phone or any help at that time. My phone is locked up so cannot use it at all, now cannot apparently get any help on my computer NO Help to unlock my phone. Why is there not a forget your password on expensive cell phone??? Why lie and say we'll get back with you on the computer in 24 hrs. I realize its the holidays but ample time was given. I refuse to go to Verizon which I already did and let them completely wipe out All my contacts and pictures and All my info. to reset my phone. HELP!

Are you stating the phone is locked, or locked up? That is two different symptoms.

If you are unable to unlock the phone due to a lost password, the Google password will not help. You need the phone password.

If the phone is locked up, remove the battery and reinsert it after one minute.

The Fascinate is an Android phone. As far as I know, when these phones are locked, you have to do a pattern thing with your finger to unlock it. Is that the "code" you are referring to? When you turn the phone on, what is on the screen?

I am thinking back to when I had an Android and getting that sinking feeling. The only time I remember it asking for the Google password was when I first set up the phone. You turn it on and the little green man is there asking for your GMAIL account info. If that is what you are seeing, it unfortunately sounds like your grandson mistakenly reset/erased your phone and it is trying to start you from scratch.
