Southwest Airlines Compliment - Company attitude and service
SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS -- I worked for an international airline when Southwest started. Competing carriers stated that the only thing Southwest had was low fares and on time service. Hello! that is why we fly instead of taking the train. Practice makes perfect, just keep doing what you do. After paying $480. luggage charges DAL to LAS rt we wanted to screen print or embroider golf shirts that said "IF SOUTHWEST DOESN'T FLY THERE, NEITHER DO I". We didn't know if this was a corporate tradename infringement so we are going to leave it up to you. Print or embroider the shirts and we will buy them.
If you are an oldtimer, like me you will enjoy a visit to Love Field. Just sit and listen to the ghosts from the years before DFW.
I used to write little notes and suggestions to Herb Kelleher, and he always responded.
***Note*** Bob Crandall with AA warned American many years ago that Southwest's seats were designed to be paid for by the passenger sitting in them. All of the airlines that have faded away structured their seats to be paid for with other peoples money. Expense accounts, tax write off business expense, non rev pass riders, etc. The most common res statement was(and still is) "If you made your reservation yesterday we could sell you that $1200 seat for $279.
Keep doing what you do. If "Southwest doesn't fly there, neither do I."
