Bridgeton Market Complaint - Complaint - Customer Service

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, FLORIDA -- I was a great customer of Bridgeton Market for their meat. I had a very large order ($700+) I was going to place. I gave them 3 months notice, stopped by to confirm a few times, updated the list, and they never got back to me with a final price. Then I called them 2 weeks before our event. The owner was rude and said he'd call me back. He never did. So not only did he loose the large event order, he's lost our business for good. I'm still puzzled as to why I was treated so poorly. We were on first name basis for quite a couple of years. I guess business is so good for Bridgeton they don't need mine???

How was the owner rude? Other than that, people make mistakes. He might have been very busy when you called and just forgot to call you back. I don't see this one incident as reason to completely boycott them, since you were previously very happy with them.

Yes we all make mistakes. But as a fellow business person, it is also crucial to follow up with your customer. As I said in my complaint. I gave them 3 months notice of our up & coming event. I checked back with him several times (in person) and was told he'll get back to me with a price. When it was down to the wire (2 weeks) and I had not received a quote I called him yet again to finalize. I had left two messages that week as well. When I finally got him on the phone. He annoyingly said "I just walked in the door and I will call you back", then promptly hung up without allowing me a chance to respond. Then he NEVER called me back. If I had waited for him to call as he said he would then I would've been without food for our wedding reception. How many reminders does a business owner need to make a sale? By the way, the butcher I ended up with had a quote to me the same day.
