Www.kawasaki.com Complaint - Bad Dirt Bikes - 2006 Kawasaki KX450F

Review by d2011 on 2010-12-02
Purchased a 2006 Kawasaki KX450F 4-stroke and after only 37 hours the motor exploded while riding on the track. The motor was practically new - I did not ride it hard. Always performed maintenance. Is it a defective motor? The dirt bike is completely useless now. Customer service is almost impossible. Spoke with dealer and they said Kawasaki does not have replacement motor - ONLY for 2011 dirt bikes and that will cost about $3500. Not good.

Do you know what part failed first?

How much maintenance could there be at 37 hours? Was the oil even changed? You would think the only thing they could claim is the oil level was low.

This is sickening. I guess there is no warranty. I am curious why only 37 hours on a 4 year-old bike?
