Best Buy Complaint - Years of trouble and impressive Incompetence from best buy
MINNESOTA -- About 4 years ago I swore I would never shop Best Buy again, After being so mad at store managers and sales people that would take phone calls when we had been waiting for an hour. and when they screwed up my payment plan and tried to make me pay interest on a purchase that had been payed off for several months. I had had enough, so many bad experiences I just couldn't take any more. BUT...just last month I was tempted by an online laptop offer and broke my boycott. I purchased the machine and then a week later an email informed my that there was none of them available any more, but they would honor the price with another comperable computer to be named later. I had to wait 3 weeks to even find out what the new model was. I called customer service and was transferred and put on never ending hold 3 times. The girl at customer service said she was going to transfer me to a supervisor, she passed me over to a guy that after explaining everything to him said that he really was NOT a supervisor after all but they are trained that if they don't know an answer to just transfer the call to another person and tell them its a supervisor. They don't even have the ability to call a manager, they must email them and wait for a response. So I waited for a few weeks and then was able to look up the replacement computer. The laptop that they offer now was $30 more and it had a slower processor than the original. Once again I called custmer service, they tried the fake supervisor transfer but I busted them right away, she emailed "a manager" and it was decided that they would match the original price but they could not offer me a comparable processor.
I told them to forget it. What I cannot completely convey in this review is the impressive incompetece that was shown at every level. Waisting so much of my life dealing with Store managers that promise to follow up but don't, to fake call supervisors, even the operator at the call center transferred me to the wrong people two time. The time that I have spent with Best buy over the last month runs into multiple hours. And once again I am on the boycott - and this time it will stick.
