Enterprise Rent-A-Car Complaint - *** Beware Of False Damage Claim And Subsequent Blacklisting!!!! ***
In 2006 I had a car returned to the lot in Dallas. They then contacted me and said there were $600 in damages. Watching YouTube I see it is commonplace for employees to kick the cars for kicks and damage them on their own. I don't know if this is what happened to me - but the car was not returned damaged. Arguing repeatedly with the inept customer service department - I got no where and finally gave up. With over 22 years of Customer Relations experience - I have to say the person running that department must be completely incompetent as he/she is doing a terrible job.
Nevertheless - trying to not let this effect me, I dropped it. I then began to receive letters from a collection agency which I promptly responded to. They then started to use criminal tactics to extort the funds from me. I filed complaint after complaint to the FTC, Enterprise and the Collection Agency and never received ONE written response, either written or verbal.
The response that did occur:
I've been blacklisted renting vehicles from Budget, National and Enterprise!
Can you believe this? I realize our country is headed down a dark path - but this is, once again, reminiscent of Nazi Germany.
All I can say is be extremely wary of Enterprise. If you are forced to rent from them - take pictures before you leave the lot and when you return.
