DSN TV Complaint - Unfair, Unstated Return Policy

Review by designerbabe on 2010-12-04
A couple of years ago I was an avid watcher of DSN TV, and made a number of purchases in the couple of thousands of dollars range. There were gemstones and rings that were purchased. A $900+ Spessertite and diamond woman's ring, an $1100.00 Rubellite Tourmaline Gemstone, and 2 $340.00 canary diamonds, white small accent diamonds, a $400.00 opal, a $900. Man's ring and possibly a few other items. Of these I returned the tourmaline, because though it was beautiful when I got it was too large for me to consider wearing as a ring, which was why I bought it. I returned it. The Stone in the man's ring had a flaw very visible to the naked eye and not mentioned on the show, and as it was to be a gift I returned it. I also remember a few small opals about $10-15 each purchased as singles of which I kept 3 and returned 7.
This was over a period of perhaps a year or so. I had not made any additional purchases for a while, however the next time I tried to buy something they refused to let me buy anything because of the fact I had returned these items.
I had never not paid, never complained to them about quality, which I could easily have done, yet my money is not good enough. I probably would have made another couple of thousand dollars worth of merchandise by now....their loss. Just be aware that at any time they can and will cut you off if you do what they encourage you to do, to get the item and see it for yourself and if you don't like it you return it.

Just a guesstimate, but it seems as, from what you have written, you are returning from 25-30% of what you are ordering. Restocking, reselling etc. costs money. From what I understand, DSN works on slim margins and depends on volume for the profit. Also, the items you return may not be on the "sell list" for a week or so, increasing inventory costs. It's possible, in spite of the money you spent you are not a "profit center" for them.
