Microtel Inn Complaint - Horrible Service / Food
MAGGIE VALLY, NORTH CAROLINA -- Not only was the "free" breakfast bar void of anything but sugary carbs, the lone front desk clerk was doubling as the breakfast attendant. She was wearing a non-hotel black t-shirt.
At 8:15, I wasn't expecting the food to be gone. I requested milk for the cereal, I was informed there was none. I asked if there was any fruit or yougurt available. No. How about some cream cheese for the bagels they had out? No cream cheese. Can I get a tea bag since I don't drink coffee and there was no milk or juice? No. So I had a piece of dry toast and a semi-soft muffin. My husband waited for 20 minutes for the attendant/front desk clerk to make waffle batter. They also had a large (empty) muffin bin which looked like it had never been used.
Aside from the non-existent breakfast, the indoor pool was covered with mold and mildew. The guest chairs were soaking wet from the improperly vented building causing condensation to keep everything wet. There was no place to put a dry towel where it would stay dry while you swam.
What a disappointment!
