I purchased a TIVO Premiere XL from Best Buy to upgrade from a series II. Spent $299 called TIVO to transfer my account. I was told that the unit was not purchased from them and was a Best Buy promotion I couldn't transfer. The only way I could transfer plan was to purchase from them. I even offered to pay the extra $50 dif. in their price and transfer the answer was no I would have to buy from them for $349 to transfer. They have lost a customer when this account runs out.
