Gateway Complaint - Disappointing Laptop
I recently purchased a Gateway NV59C63U laptop computer from Best Buy. It lasted all of 60 days, before the DVD drive went in-op, and I was unable to load necessary software for work.
And since Best Buy has a 14-day return policy (which costs you a 15% "re-stocking fee"), they will NOT exchange or accept a return, even for a DEFECTIVE unit. So now I'm stuck with an "iffy" laptop. It's out to Gateway for repair .. we'll see.
I had hoped that when Acer bought Gateway, that the Gateway products would improve. However, since also buying E-machines, it appears that Gateway products has taken the low-road, dropping to e-machine product quality. This is verified by the fact that the "official" brand of my laptop is "Gateway EMACHINES NB TV".
Lesson learned - stay with the trusted brands if you need a reliable work laptop.
