Pep Boys Complaint - Please, go elsewhere.
EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, NEW JERSEY -- I do just want to start off by saying that I am not the type of person to complain unless customer service is awful, and unless morals are just AWFUL. My car broke down and I had it towed to Pep Boys, they diagnosed it with the tensioner pulley breaking, said they would repair it for 500 dollars. We did not want to pay for another tow so we did that. They replaced my belt and pulley and then called and said that the water pump was bad too and it would cost 400 dollars to repair. Well I didn't have this. My stepdad fixed the water pump and afterwards, my car was still leaking water and antifreeze. I assumed positive intent that Pep Boys did their job correctly. They did not. My stepdad got under my car and saw a crack where the bolt went into my motor block. Pep Boys towed the car back to their place and looked at it but are still saying its the water pump when it isn't. They will not own up to what they did. I feel as if they were trying to get more money from us to make their commission, and trying to cover up their mess up. I was very dissatisfied with the customer service and the service itself.
I know this is lengthy but the story is insane. I wish I knew how bad Pep Boys was before trusting them with my baby. :\
