Chase Automotive Finance Complaint - Telephone harassment

Review by sharpchick on 2010-12-06
FORT WORTH, TEXAS -- Chase Auto Finance has been blowing up my cell phone for over a week now, trying to "collect a debt."

The problem with that is that I don't have a loan with them.

I don't have a car loan with anyone.

They admit they cannot tie my name or phone number to any loan, but the calls just keep coming, in excess of 8 calls/voice mail messages a day.

I have filed a complaint with the FCC, and contacted the Tarrant Co TX Sheriff's Department to file a complaint about telephone harassment.

My next step will be an FTC complaint.

Something is seriously wrong with a company that spends this much time and energy and creates this much ill will trying to collect money from someone who owes them nothing.

Don't you have a block feature on your cell phone? I block any unwanted calls.

There are facts and remedies available here:

Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA)

Most of this pertains to 3rd party collectors but there should be some useful information for you.
