Sheraton Complaint - Dissatisfied - Hotel service

Hotel service - Complaint
Review by blewellen on 2010-12-06
INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA -- Recently booked a hotel room on Priceline.com. I have had good experiences on Priceline and this hotel until now.

short background on hotel experience. recently booked on pricline within 6 wks. everything was pretty well right on when it came to pictures and services and quality of hotel.

stayed at the same hotel this past weekend (Dec 4). nothing different on the website. when we checked in they gave us a paper stating all the renovations they were performing on the hotel. came across (at the bottom of the page) that the pool was CLOSED!!!! this would not have been a big deal to me and my wife, but my 6 and 11 year olds were devistated. the whole reason for this hotel was 1. I had a good experience just 6 weeks earlier and 2. they had an indoor swimming pool for the children.

We called the hotel manager on duty and shared our concerns and they told us that there was nothing they could do. We booked our room on Priceline and their hands were tied. the Sheraton told us (not a quote) basically pack our children up in 25 degree weather and drive them to the Marriot to take them swimming since they received permission to use their pool. I am sorry, but I came to your hotel for these accommodations not the marriot.

we asked to have them book us a room at the marriot since that is where the pool was. we were told they could not do that. we booked our room through Priceline and there was nothing they could do.

Why didn't you just book the room yourself, through the Marriott? You already have a beef with Priceline, why even consider using them again.

Sorry you had such a bad experience.

The hotel manager is right. You made a contract with Priceline, not the Sheraton.

I would have contacted Priceline. Your money is going through them. Your booking is going through them. So if Sheraton gives a refund, the money just goes back to Priceline. Priceline is the one you really need to talk to.

As an aside, it was very nice of Sheraton and Mariott to arrange a pool-sharing agreement.
