Sony Electronics Inc Complaint - Wi-Fi Ready My Foot!
On November 28, I purchased the above DVD player from Bestbuy.com. It was on sale for $99.99; but thanks to a lot of Reward Zone gift certificates, it cost me less than $50. I bought it so that I could watch Netflix via WiFi in my bedroom. The player arrived yesterday and I opened up the intruction manual only to discover that in order to use Wi-Fi, I have to purchase a separate LAN adapter. I researched the cost on three different websites and they all cost an additional $80! I recently purchased a Sony LCD TV with an surround sound/Blu-Ray system that was also Wi-fi ready. However, that product actually came with the adapter. Why should my recently purchased DVD player be any different? I'll purchase the adapter eventually, but I'm very disappointed in Sony for making me shell out a lot of money for a Wi-Fi ready player only to find out that I have to spend almost the same amount AGAIN to make it truly ready for Wi-Fi.
