Yahoo Greetings Complaint - Difficult to cancel - Yahoo American Greetings

Review by MsEliz on 2010-12-08
You can sign up easily online with your info, but it very difficult to cancel. I have had the greeting services for over 4 years and only actually wanted for the one! After the first year their wasn't an option to cancel online, just a number to call and be put on hold till you finally give up. Tried in times past with simular difficulties. Today, after trying their now option to cancel online got message: unable to process your membership request please call customer service. FINALLY, after a short hold of 15 minutes I got a customer service representative that put me through the final loops of canceling this membership. I will never purchase anything from Yahoo again!!! Be aware that my husband had a simular experience trying to cancel his small business website with them.

I HATE companies that think it is sooooo cute to make it sooooo difficult for their customers to cancel. Thank you for this review, I will NEVER consider Yahoo for ANYthing that requires me to enter any personal info. I'd rather do without than to have to deal directly with fools who hate their customers so much as this.

I only wish they would read stuff like your review, but we all know they don't and won't.

Another industry that practices this is the fitness gym companies. I'm actually going to put together a letter and send it to the FTC to see if they can force these companies to make it as easy to terminate their membership as it is to join them.

Yeah, I hope that their method of business backfires on them. It just isn't good business practice. I am very leary of auto-renewal because of such as this.
