Workout World Complaint - Wow referral scam for lower fees

My husband and I joined Wow the end of Sep when they had the promotion of 1$ down going on. Just like somebody mentioned we were also offered lower prices for referral and as we said we dint know anybody, they said they will get the people. My husband was extremely skeptical, but unfortunately our desire to somehow join a gym and start working out made us sign up. So once the bill came, we dint see the lower price. When we started following up. The lady who signed us up was not doing sales anymore. The manager says contact the corporate office by email. How come these guys don't have a phone service? I am trying to investigate on finding out where the heck they are located and I will surely follow up on this. I will keep this site posted. They can't get away by ripping us off like this. We can't afford this. We joined only bcos they said it would be lower. We froze the card too. This sucks!

WOW's referral program is a SCAM! I was paying $50/month and w/the referral prgm they said for every person I have join the gym $10 gets knocked off my dues per month for the remainder of the contract. After my boyfriend signed up my dues were lowered to $40. So I was SHOCKED to find out that when I was ready to cancel after my 3year contract was up they told me b/c I participated in the referral prgm, my contract was extended for another 6 months!!! Total scam and ILLEGAL! They had nothing in writing stating that and I got the NJ Attorney General and BBB involved. Needless to say, they cancelled my contract right away, but refused to refund me the 4 extra months they charged me!

If you froze the credit card they use to charge your monthly fees, expect a call from a collection agency in the not too distant future.
