Target Complaint - Online Shopping Outrage!
I made an online order on Nov. 29, 2010 and two of the items that I ordered both ended up being backordered and a notification was send on Dec 1st. There was in no way any indication on the item description that these items were unavailable on Nov. 29th. Had I known this, I would have never placed the order in the first place. I will be needing both gifts for Christmas. In an e-mail received on Dec. 1st from Target stating that my estimated shipping dates are Dec.14-Dec 28, 2010. On the Target website, under "My Account" information it states estimated delivery Dec. 6, 2010-Jan. 4, 2011. Does this make sense?
After my phone call with customer service, it is clear to me that there is nothing that could be done. I am completely disgusted with this corporation. I find it interesting that the proper information is NOW found on the item description"out of stock" or "item not available." I am now scurrying to find the same items elsewhere, which hasn't happen, since the Leapfrog Leapster Explorer is out of stock everywhere else.
After placing my order on the evening of Nov. 29th, I walked away from my computer feeling confident, like I always had with my Target orders. It was to my dismay on Dec. 5th when I opened my e-mail and saw I had "backordered" items in my cart. This was certainly not the same order I placed on November 29th?
This will go down in history as the year Target ruined Christmas. I will be sure to copy and paste this complaint in multiple consumer review sites. I know that I am a small pebble in a big pond of customers, but I feel it important that others know about Target's false advertising, inconsistent invoices, shady back-peddling emails and inability to solve the problem.
