MONICATTI CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP Complaint - ONLY ONE KEY GIVEN BY DEALERSHIP

Review by bealeader on 2005-03-23
STERLING HEIGHTS, MICHIGAN -- WARNING TO ALL PURCHASIING A NEW CAR TO BE SUR THAT YOU GET BOTH KEYS IN YOUR HANDS BEFORE LEAVING THE DEALERSHIP.

I DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS MICHIGAN THING ONLY BUT IT HAS HAPPENED TO ME RECENTLY. I WAS BASICALLY CALLED A LIAR WHEN I WENT BACK FOR THE SECOND KEY.

TOLD THAT THEY PLACE THE SECOND KEY IN THE JEEP GREEN CANVAS BAG BUT IT WASN'T THERE.

I WAS TREATED HORRIBLY AT MONICATTI CHRYSLER JEEP IN STERLING HEIGHTS, MICHIGAN.

I HAVE NOW HEARD OF OTHER DEALERSHIPS NOT GIVEN 2 KEYS EXCEPT WITH TECHNOLOGY TODAY YOU HAVE TO HAVE TWO KEYS FOR PROGRAMMING.

IS THIS A SCAM OR WHAT? THEY CHARGE YOU $122.00 FOR THE SECOND KEY AND IT'S $800 OR MORE IF YOU LOSE THE ORIGINAL KEY TO CHANGE LOCKS.

JUST A WARNING WORD.

Send a letter to the dealership and CC DaimlerChrysler (DaimlerChrysler Customer Assistance Center P.O. Box 21-8004 Auburn Hills, MI 48321-8004).

DaimlerChrysler will at least require the dealership to respond both to you and to corporate.May work or may not but well worth the price of a couple of postage stamps.
