Hungtington Toyota Long Island Complaint - Bad customer service

HUNTINGTON, NEW YORK -- I was checking online the new cars and I come across a deal from Hungtington Toyota in Long Island that you could make an offer on the cars price advertised online. So I thought that I should go ahead and I made an offer. A day later someone emailed me back, name Kate Jordan from internet sales dept. I called and I spoke with her regarding what I am looking for. I mentioned that I am looking to buy any new car or model Toyota or other brand for whick I can get a good deal and will fit my budget. When I got to the point to tell her ( because she also told me in her email that I can lease a car for almost $300/month) that I am not interested to lease a car for the price that I would pay buying a new 2011 Mercedes 300, this person Kate got atitude and cutt me off rude by saying that she will present the offer to the management and she will let me know than she hang up suddenly. One week later I stil haven't heard nothing from that person. So I sent an email and then afterwords I called. I never ask to speak to that person but unfortunately I got her again on the phone. My God she gave me the same bad atitude by sayin that she haven't got back to me because I said I am interested to buy other cars as well, like a Mercedes pffffff... Bottom line is that I asked her to tell me what's going on with the offer that I made if was accepted or no so she put me on hold for a few minutes and then she told me that the offer was not accepted because the price advertised it's already a reduced price. I said ok "thank you for your great help" and I hang up the phone without even trying to mention to her that underneath the car's advertised price was a box where you could put your price and make an offer. Beside her bad atitude toward me as a client what she said didn't make any sense to me. I am very unhappy with the way I've been treated as a prospective client. It made me think about this dealership and their way of doing business. Therefore, I started to researched for ppl reviews and after reading so many complaints, I got to the conclusion that I was lucky I haven't got in a deal with them. Well, I also decided to make Kate Jordan an internet star for bad business.

How much below the asking price was your offer? Most car salespeople will just ignore unrealistic low offers knowing that it's not worth the time and effort to make a deal. This seems more like a case of negotiations not going someone's way instead of bad customer service.

That's not the issue. I made the offer a few hundred dollars less. However, she said that price won't be any lower than the price advertised even though there was a box under the price where you could make an offer. MY feeling about this all thing, was that the person in charge, Kate Jordan, was trying to get ridd of me. That is bad business to treat a customer that way in today's economy when Toyota had so many issues with the recalls.

Does sound as if the salesperson dropped the ball to go on to something that would make her money. She could have handled it better. Not faulting the OP at all, but that is part of sales and negotiations. If I have a customer that I know I won't sell, I tell them I appreciate their time and to let me know if I can do anything, call me. Then I move on, rather than wasting my time.
