Guardian Care of Zebulon Complaint - Lousy Rehab - Rehab after back surgery

Review by lisadriver on 2010-12-14
ZEBULON, NORTH CAROLINA -- My father lost the use of his legs over a 2-month period. He had back surgery to correct the problem and needed rehab. We were told that he would receive rehab several times a day if he went to a rehab center rather than receiving rehab at home once a day. He agreed to go to Guardian Care because we thought he would get better faster with their help. He only received rehab once a day and that was in a group of several people. He was not allowed to use a walker unless he had a staff member with him. There were not enough staff members for the individualized attention. So he sat in a wheelchair with his legs getting weaker rather than stronger. Rehab consisted of a peddle exerciser being set in front of patients. He was able to use the exerciser but some feeble people sat there for an hour with the exerciser sitting in front of their wheelchairs. He left against their advice and started going to out-patient rehab in Louisburg 3 times a week and began to see immediate results.

Once you lose the use of your legs there may be nothing that rehab can do.
