Dish Network Compliment - Jerking me around on install appointments. Lied and stood me up.
KNOXVILLE, TENNESSEE -- I called on Friday to set up an account and make an appointment for installation. They said once I set up the account, and got transferred to the install dept, they would set a day within 3 days to do the install...but normally they do it within 24hrs.
So I set up the account and they transferred me. They told me that the soonest day they could do was Thursday (6 days). Keep in mind that this is in December, and I kinda doubt they are that busy with installs just before Christmas.
I asked if they could call me or let me know if they had cancellations and could get me in sooner. They said I had to call each morning and get put on a list for cancellations. My wife called once since then (not sure of the day), and said that they originally promised 3 day install, and they set up an appt for Tuesday from 8am-12pm. I called on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday since I was off work each of them, to get on the cancellation list. No call was reeived. That's ok, I understand if nobody cancelled. So Tuesday (today 12/14/10), I get up at 7am to call and give them my cell number, since the person that was going to be a home for the install backed out on us. At that time, they tell me I'm on the schedule for 12-5pm. So much for taking half a day off work.
At about 11am, my wife calls because she's upset the appt changed for some reason. They then tell her that she's on the schedule for Thursday. I call back and they tell me that we were NEVER on the schedule for today at all. I told the guy that since I missed a whole day, due to three employees lying to us, I should get some sort of credit to my account. He says after the install is complete, he can give us $18 in pay per views...that's 3 movies. I can get 3 movies within walking distance, at Redbox, for $3!! Come on!!
Great service, Dish!! If you treat me this way now, what will it be like after I sign a contract???!! I'm tempted to stand them up on Thursday, because I am NOT going to miss another day of work for this, and then call that night with an ultimatum... do it Saturday or the deal is off!!
