American Express Complaint - Reward Points
I have an American Express Blue credit card. Over the years I've accumulated about 30,000 points through purchases using American Express Blue card. Recently, I redeemed about 29,000 points by purchasing a Flip camera listed in American Express shopping web site. After receiving the product, I found the camera has a fixed memory and no provision to add an SD card. So, I spoke with American Express reward redemption and they sent me a label to return the merchandise. I returned the camera to the address on the label. To my surprise, I found the camera returned to me by the merchant to whom I returned the product. I wrote to American Express to resolve this issue. According to the terms in the American Express web site, products bought by redeeming points can be returned within 30 days. I returned the product within a week. American Express refuses to take back the product and credit my account with the points redeemed.
