HotJewelryAuctions.com Complaint - HotJewelryAuctions.com and World Jewelry Outlets is a SCAM!

Review by sccd1024 on 2010-12-14
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA -- HotJewelryAuctions.com is a SCAM!! They say their jewelry is certified as new and fine jewelry. And that satisfaction is guaranteed.. and all they are doing is stealing your money! I bought, what I thought was a 10kt gold bracelet with diamonds and rubies. I went to a jewelry within 3 days to check it's authenticity, because I was actually disappointed when I received the item. It looked nothing like the picture they had of it. When the jeweler examined it, they tested it in front of me and explained what the tests would tell them. The scratch test with the "gold" revealed that in fact, it was not gold. Not even gold plated! The rubies were no more than play gemstones that people place on their clothing. The diamonds.. well, needless to say, were fake. They had their "ACA" certification (which is not truly a company) stating that the "Conclusion: New Finely crafted Jewelry with all genuine Materials as described". It's estimated replacement value was said to be $1,190, when in fact it's not worth more than $10 on a good day. When I called them after I had gotten home to explain to them what I had found out and that I wanted my money back, the supervisor "Joe", got very hostile with me. Calling me a liar and an idiot and who checked the Jewelry out were liars and idiots. He asked me for the name of the place that I had it checked out at and I told him where it was. I had taken it to Helzberg Jewelry. He didn't know who they were and demanded I told him who the person was and that he was going to put a lawsuit against them. He can't because THEY actually sell REAL jewelry!! He then hung up on me. I called back, and he hung up on me again. Then again. I then called back and instead of asking for him specifically, I told the guy that answered the phone to let Joe know that I was going to file a complaint, which I have and get my money back. If you check them out, you will see all the lawsuits they have had against them for fraud. They actually had to move from Arizona to California and change their name because of all the lawsuits! So buyer beware! They also operate under "World Jewelry Outlet" or http://www.wjoutlet.com/ That's where Joe's email came from. So save your money and your time because what you think your getting, your really not!

I prefer to get my jewelry from reputable stores. I'd rather pay a bit more and not be unpleasantly surprised. So far, this has worked well for me.

Thanks for the heads up! I have actually looked at their things before because they have a nice selection of tanzanite. Guess I dodged a bullet. I hope you have good success with your refund.

Thank you both! I am now never going to trust online jewelry auction/stores/or what have you. I have always bought jewelry at a store, but I learned my lesson on this one for sure! It was just "to good to be true" and turns out, that's exactly what it was..

If you don't have time to read my whole review, then just read this: Don't buy from this company! Product: F,A,K,E - fake! I bought two items from them - a diamond bracelet and an emerald
