Harrys Furniture, Saline MI Complaint - No furniture for Christmas
SALINE, MICHIGAN -- We remodeled our living room to make it larger. We needed to purchase a couple more pieces to match the Berkline furniture we already had and carefully scheduled the purchase and delivery to have it for Christmas. On Oct. 28th I ordered and placed a 1/4 deposit on a reclining loveseat and rocker. I was promised delivery in 4-6 weeks. 6 weeks later I called to inquire about a delivery date. I called 4 times (left messages twice) over 4 days before I was able to talk to my salesman. He said he would check into it and call me back. 4 days later I was called by another salesman who informed me that my furniture would not be delivered until March! He gave me a song and dance about the fabric not being available. I called a number of other stores that offered the same furniture, same fabric-no mention of shortage but none had it in stock. He then offered to sell me a sofa with "power recline" that they HAD in stock, in place of the love seat, for $150 more though (the sofa in these lines is generally $25-40 more EVERYWHERE). He said he needed that because of the power option THAT I DID NOT WANT. I think they either sold my furniture to someone else and/or were trying to get rid of inventory for the end of the year.
