DirecTV Inc Compliment - Satisfied Customer - SD in 2 rooms
We had DirecTV installed in 2005 after moving into our new home. We have been happy with our service throughout the past few years. Reception 98%+ on all. Although we have a package that is no longer available, they have kept our monthly rates down - we actually get about a dozen extra channels for a few dollars less than the current entry level package. Have heard horror stories about techs in other areas, but never experienced this here. They have always been polite and knowledgeable. Used to have a basic land line, but haven't for some time because we have VOIP. We hooked up the phone line just to get the caller ID display so I don't have to run upstairs to answer the phone by the computer, but recently a lightning storm or a squirrel apparently took out our inside lines. Log home, too hard to replace them. (Miss it. Miss having phone call history right there on the TV.) When we have requested service or upgrades no one has ever misled us or given us any problems whatsoever. Never had to pay for a service call when the old receiver went out and they replaced it. Didn't see the extra receiver on our bill, called them months later and told them the tech took it with him when he brought the new one, they reimbursed us the monthly $5 fee no problem whatsoever. Wanted HD upgrade, but techs tell us we need to take out a tree to get the view of the other satellites. Tech who came got there first thing, and saw the problem and called in another. We wanted them to do it anyway and we would take the tree or limbs out after the fact. Both were honest with us - told us they wouldn't get paid if they didn't do the install, but there would be no way it would pass, and we wouldn't get all our channels. Called their boss to cancel and credit us back for the prepaid receiver, we told him we would have the tree cut and then call back agina for the upgrade. No grief whatsoever. Shook their hands and told them to drive safe and stay warm.
