Blinds Chalet Complaint - Installation a Nightmare

Review by review101 on 2010-12-20
I ordered two remote controlled motorized blackout shades. Upon receipt, my installer discovered parts were missing and no directions were included. He used his own hardware to install them, but he couldn't complete the installation because there were no endcaps to install the valances. In addition, since there weren't any directions, and only one remote was sent only one shade works. He had to disconnect one of them because they weren't working in unison. When I contacted the company, I was told I could get instructions "on line." For the price I shouldn't have to have my installer charge me while I download my own instructions.
Company Response on 12/21/2010:
We would first like to apologize for the inconvenience because the manufacturer we work with left out the installation instructions as well as some of the installation parts. When the customer called us, we immediately sent a link for her to download the same instructions that would have normally been sent and her installer was able to install the shades. Some of the parts she was requesting do not come with and are not needed for the shade she ordered. We also told the customer we would overnight the missing parts anyway as well as the one missing remote so she would be able to operate both shades the next day. We also let the customer know we would be willing to pay for all the installation fees as she complained that she had to pay for the additional time to download the instructions. Blinds Chalet takes customer service very serious and we strive to do all we can for our customers.
