chevrolet Complaint - transmission
I purchased a new 2002 Z71 truck, within 10K miles the tranny started clunking between shifts.I took it to three different dealers who said that there was nothing wrong with the tranny. Chevy claimed that the clunking would not hurt the drive train or affect the resale value. I filed a claim with the BBB and went to a hearing at which I represented myself. I presented my proof of trying to resolve the problem. I then took the arbitrators for a ride so they could experience the problem for themselves. It took about 3 weeks for me to get their decision. They sided with me and made Chevy buy the truck back for the full amount minus 0.37 cents per mile. Stupid me I thought it was a fluke with just that tranny so I bought a 2004 Z71 truck. Within 3000 miles the new truck started doing the same thing! I called Chevy and told them to either give me a transferable 70K warranty for free or I would go back to the BBB and would probably win again and then I would sue them in small claims court for lost wages and other incurred expenses. They did! If you are having the same problems with your tranny you might try what I did.I have talked to a lot of new truck owners who are having the same problem. The trannies are junk!!!
