Safford Dodge Complaint - Poor Repair Service

Review by Its gonna cost how much! on 2005-03-27
SAFFORD DODGE, VIRGINIA -- On 3/25/05 I took my 2000 Dodge Dakota Quad-cab to have some repair work done, thinking that it would be covered under the 5/100 added care plan I purchased when I bought the truck. Come to find out this coverage had expired 01/24/05. I did not know that this coverage started when I bought the truck, I thought it took over when the standard warranty expired. I don't think this was explained very well when I purchased the truck, why would you want the 5/100 added care plan to start the same time as the standard warranty? The reason I took my truck to the dealership was not just to get these things repaired but because I received a letter in the mail from DaimlerChrysler for the "UPPER BALL JOINT EXTENDED WARRANTY". I had in the past taken my truck to the dealership(right after I bought the truck)about a "clunking" noise in the front suspension. The first couple of times they could not "duplicate" the customers complaint. Then they ended up saying the problem was the steering column which they replaced.I wonder,it still clunked after. So now the service manger is telling me that this ball joint thing is for 4x4 trucks only (Recall). The things I had repaired were the drivers side front door window came off the track, passenger side front door automatic door lock making noise and not working properly, cooling system leak at thermostat housing, transmission slipping going into 2nd gear. $971.97 my truck was ready, the reason the transmission was slipping I was told was the induction system was carboned up,if the engine isn't running right the transmission will not shift right, its an electronic thing the service manger told me.They also changed the filter and transmission fluid. I had changed the filter and fluid less than a year ago. Its not just the amount of money that tics me off, its the way the service manger talked to me, like I didn't know the difference between a ball joint and a king pin. You can imagine how I felt when I got up the next day after having my truck repaired and was unable to get in the passengers side front door.Guess what I'll be doing Monday.
