Budget Rent-A-Car Complaint - Rip Off - Rent A Car
We rented a car from Budget Rent A Car and the morning when we got up and left the beautiful hotel in West Palm Beach, Florida to start the car at 5:00 in the morning for a 6:30 flight back to the Northeast, the car would not start. We called customer service to inform them and were told that someone would get back to us in 2 hours. I told him that we could not wait for 2 hours as our flight is scheduled to leave in 90 minutes. His only concern was the car. We gave him the name and address of the hotel. He told us we would be abandoning the car if we leave the keys with the hotel's front desk. After what seemed like a 25 minute conversation, he agreed for us to leave the keys with the front desk. We took a cab to the airport half an hour away.
We received our credit card bill the next month with an additional fee of $149 for recovery. We were shocked! We are now disputing this charge and working with our credit card company. This is robbery! They gave us a car that malfunctioned and penalizing us. My wife and I travel to Florida quite a bit and this is the first time we have used Budget. We have had no problems with Avis, Hertz, Dollar.
PLEASE DO NOT USE BUDGET RENT A CAR. THEY ARE THIEVES AND THE SERVICE IS SO POOR IT IS UNBELIEVABLE! THERE ARE SEVERAL OTHER COMPANIES OUT THERE.
