Lowe's Complaint - Useless warranty and return policy
PHOENIX, ARIZONA -- I purchased a pressure washer from Lowe's and kept it in the unopened box for over a year. When we decided not to move out of Phoenix, I decided to use the pressure washer. The first and second time the spray pulsated coming out and the third time the pump seized up. I called the Troybilt customer service no. in the manual and they told me based on the ser. no. that labor was not covered under warranty after the first year, but I could bring the unit to a repair facility. I read the warranty and there is wording in there that can be used to virtually void any warranty work. The repair facility told me the repair was done but the warranty would not cover the repair as their was calcium from the tap water I used and the bill was $80 to replace the O-rings. I brought it home and the pump seized up again the second time.
I brought it back to Lowe's to see if I can get my money back from this worthless junk but custoer service said they only have a 30 day return policy (I wouldn't want to buy gifts for someone from there). She suggested having it repaired again to create a repair history and maybe Troybilt would take care of the matter. By what I have read from other complaints, that would never happen and I don't want to pay $80 each time for a repair history. If Lowe's is going to continue selling this crap, save your money and use your thumb over the end of a garden hose.
