I have caller ID and rarely answer unknown caller or 800 numbers but yesterday morning I did. A very friendly voice was replying to my request for an insurance quote. I didn't ask for an insurance quote recently so this confused me but I went ahead anyway. After affirming all my information which they had for some reason, I was tranferred to someone in PA (I live in WY) who gave me a wonderful quote. This was about half what I pay now without all the discounts I get. After reading all the reviews on this website, I think I will pass. We have had to use our auto insurance for a number of accidents caused by others or hail etc and they have responded quickly and smoothly. Not willing to trade that for lower premium that might increase every month.

I would not give out or affirm any information on a phone call placed to me that I was not expecting.

Caller ID is only good for people you know. Solicitors and scam artists can spoof the caller ID with anything they want.

I NEVER answer 1-800 calls.
