Nuance Complaint - Paperport No help or support for useless product

Review by azpaulh on 2010-12-23
I had been very pleased with Paperport ver 9.0 but version 11, in my opinion is an inferior product. In my case it ran slower and crashed continually. There was no support from Nuance who would not even discuss the issue until they had a credit card authorization first. After buying the upgrade I am not about to give them another cent unless they fix the bugs. However it got worse before it got better. On one of the crashes, I decided to reinstall XP and paperport, along with my other software. Everything went fine until I tried to activate paperport again, when I had a message informing me that it could not be activated as I had used up the activation allowance. Again another call to Nuance who refused to reactivate it. Yes it is a legal product for which I have the receipt showing the full price paid! Now the good news - I reinstalled my old version 9 and it worked great and continues to do so. I am just out another $100+ for the useless upgrade. Obviously I will never purchase another Nuance product ever again. In anticipation of one day having to go from XP to Win 7, I have converted all my PP. max files to pdf, and will use Adobe Acrobat Pro.
