Verizon Wireless Complaint - Verizon Wireless Poor Service and Overcharging
I have been a loyal Verizon customer for over 10 years, but about two months ago, I started having connectivity issues with my cell phone in and outside my home. I found out my next door neighbor was having the same problems, so he purchased a Verizon network extender, which seemed to make my problem worse. I called Verizon Tech Support, and they had me dial *228 to sync up with their tower. This did not help. They then had me go to their store and have the software on my phone updated. This did not help either. So they said I needed to purchase a new cell phone. I bought a new phone, and this did not solve the reception issues. I called Verizon again, and they said they would look into the reception issue and get back to me. During the conversation the representative said they did not guarantee indoor reception. The problem is I am having reception problems outside the house until I get to the main arterial 1/2 mile away from my home. Verizon said they would follow-up. They never called back. I called Verizon again after the reception issues got worse (I couldn't even make or receive a call from my home). I demanded they compensate me for the Verizon phone I didn't need to buy and they acknowledged service issues in my city. They also acknowledged that there are interference/reception issues when a network extender is nearby such as my next door neighbor's. Verizon would not give me a refund on my phone, but they did send a network extender for my home. Now I received my statement from Verizon and they charged me for a data plan I never ordered. I called them again and they said they would only compensate me for a few days not the entire billing cycle. I never ordered the data plan service, and I told them I would not pay it. This story goes longer and longer, and I have been dealing with Verizon for over two months now. They have lied to me and have sent me fraudulent charges for services I never ordered. This is a shame since I have been with them for over 10 years. I will cancel this service as soon as I have the opportunity.
