Pre paid phone service - Complaint
WORTHINGTON SPRINGS, FLORIDA -- I am very frustrated by my experience with Global Tel Link, I have set up a pre-paid account so our dayughter can call us from jail. So far we have only gotten one call thru. We have a positive account balance of over $60.00. Every time our daughter calls and I press zero to accept the call nothing happens. I have made many call to report this problem, but I get absolutly NO SATISFACTION...put thys dastardly company out of business!

You aren't alone. There are many complaints against this company. Have you ever considered contacting your states attorney generals office, and making a complaint to them?

Normally, in detention facilities, only one provider is available for phone service for inmates. The problem the OP related seems to be reported for all the companies I have heard of that provide this service. I strongly suspect, as only one option is available, that the state or local government benefits from the contract being exclusive.
I won't judge why your relative is incarcerated, and it is a shame they cannot seem to reach you by phone. Letter writing may be an option until you can get this issue resolved.
