SharperImage.com Complaint - The Darker Image!!! Of The Sahrper Image.Com

Review by martin13850 on 2010-12-27
My 15 yr old daughter emailed me with a link to the Easy Learn to Play Guitar from the Sharper Image web site. $149.99 but at that amount included free shipping. (the only good thing in this complaint)

On Christmas morning when we opened the box, (still in shipping box) the inner box containing the guitar had been opened and re-taped around and around.

Was a very nice looking guitar but had some scratches on the neck. My little girl couldn't care less but I do. When I am paying full list and top dollar, which I have no problem doing and is why I was willing to do business with a name like "Sharper Image", I expect new and I mean new in the box.

So I called the cust-serv-number with very expectation of being made happy. But since the item was out of stock I could either disappoint my little girl and return it or keep a damaged product I paid top dollar for.

I told them I do not disappoint my daughter and I will never do business this this company again.

Well, now the representative says she can go to her supervisor because she does not have the authority. And after being on hold a very very short time came back with an offer of 10%. I told them they could keep their $15 and I will never do business with The sharper Image again!

It was out of stock, therefore, they could not replace it immediately for you. They did everything right, you just are not satisfied. They also offered you a 10% dicount, what more did you want? They did everything they could, except offering you a full refund, plus another new guitar shipped out.

What would of made you happy?

I can understand why you are upset, but they tried to make it right. The guitar has a few scratches on it. They offered you some money for its appearance, even though the function was not compromised. Your daughter doesn't care, so I think you should have taken the money.

Can the scratches be buffed out?

Why wouldn't you take the 10% offer? I think that's pretty standard for some minor damage that doesn't affect the performance of the item.

Was it out of stock forever or just for a short time?

Your little girl is happy, that's all that matters!
