WASHINGTON -- I was a Verizon customer for years!!!! My kids used to tell me how much cheaper Sprint was and how much they liked them. I decided to switch, my phone and my wireless account for my laptop. Unfortunately, my friend was on my account too and decided to keep his phone. Eventually he couldn't keep up with the bills so they suspended the line, but of course, kept adding the charge every month except one. I called to close the account but they said they couldn't do that till the bill was paid off. I paid the balance for my friend so we could close the line. I asked Verizon specifically, "when I pay this balance, the only thing left will be the $140. early disconnect fee right???" They assured me that was it. Come to find out, the bill is now $181.00!!! Verizon said some mumble jumble about a reconnect fee, late fee and taxes.
The phone was never reconnected but Verizon says that when I paid the balance, they had to reconnect it to disconnect it. I HAVE NEVER HEARD SUCH BS IN MY LIFE!!! DO NOT GO WITH VERIZON. THE PRICE AND THE FEE'S WILL BURY YOU AND THE KNIFE IN YOUR BACK WILL NEVER STOP TURNING AS LONG AS THEY CAN SUCK SOME BLOOD OUT OF YOU.
