DirecTV Inc Complaint - Company is a joke - TV/internet
ALLENTOWN, PENNSYLVANIA -- Over a year ago I tried to cancel a new service with company as their "customer service" representative failed to tell me that I would need to get Wild Blue for my Internet and Phone service. However, the representative at Wild Blue told me that the service was very slow (in my area of PA) and did not recommend it.
When I went to cancel the Direct TV order, I was put through a series of questions and intended stalls, "hold on a minute while I...." etc. etc.
Yesterday, forgetting the Wild Blue thing, but hoping to find a service which would save me some money (over my local cable company) I phoned them again. The representative took all my information and when I went to phone the number he gave me for the bundled package I was referred, again, to Wild Blue.
Trying to cancel the new service (the next day) this second time was a nightmare. There are a variety of reps with foreign accents for which they put me through a series of stalls, questions, etc. They would not take cancel for an answer. The representative then told me that he needed to "verify it with his supervisor" and that I should hold on and not hang up or the service would not be canceled. So, perhaps, he did have to answer another phone call or more in between (as another representative told me), but my opinion was that this was another stall and, at best, should not be the way to handle a cancellation. It appeared to be some kind of "punishment" for canceling if you know what I mean.
I phoned a third time and this time got a female for which I could understand and she took care of the cancellation.
I can't believe this company is still in operation. Their customer service is a complete joke. By the way, you won't get the same package quotes a second or even third time you phone them. Furthermore, you will discover that one representative "corrects" the other rep...and on and on.
There won't be a third time inquiry from me to Direct TV. My experience is indelably engrained into my conscience!
