Dish Network Complaint - Disgusted With Deceptiveness
9601 S SOUTH MERIDIAN ENGLEWOOD CA -- I recently discontinued my service w/Dish Network (which I used through a previous bundle with ATT, which no longer represents DISH NETWORK).I finally received the boxes and labels to return the equipment. NO MENTION WAS MADE, THEN OR EVER PREVIOUSLY ABOUT FEES FOR RETURN.) The instructions were followed meticulously. Today, I received a statement "Welcoming New Customer". When I called DISH, I was advised that the $31.88 charge was for return of equipment, and 'all customers paid it." After no satisfaction from a very cold, representative who always wanted the last work, even if it was a "hummmph" to my request to speak w/a supervisor, I finally spoke w/supervisor - a carbon copy of the rep! When I explained that there was NEVER ANY MENTION OF RETURN FEES IF THEIR INSTRUCTIONS TO PACK, AND RETURN TO UPS AUTHORIZED PICK UP STATION. I DID THIS. Even asked the person in the pick up office if there were additional fees and was assured that there were not. NOW, DISH WHATS $32.88 FOR RETURN. CITING the fee was for 'use of their labels". Give me a break! The use of 2 provided self addressed self adhering DISH address labels si worth a FEE OF $31.88. just AN ASSIDE, I AM A SR. CITIZEN IN MY 70'S. Not a complainer, and was very meticulous in following all packing and return instructions.
This is just another example of what "service companies appear to consider fair business practices. I call it "GOTCHA"! Funny, service was much better when I ordered and returned an item from Japan! Maybe we should take another look and what we expect from U.S. COMPANIES and their practices.
I have filed a BBB complaint, and urge you to do so also. Oh, should I mention that nowhere on the web could I find names and addresses of corporate officers. On one site there were names, no addresses or tel. nos. On another, General office address in CA, but no indication of corp officers or how they could be reached. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
